City Beaches

Amsterdam can't ever compare itself to Miami or Barcelona, but with the beach clubs at Bloemendaal and the city beaches around the centre Amsterdam do make it possible to worship the sun in style.

Beaches
Bloemendaal aan Zee is for the trendy and by far the most 'pimped' beach. There are numerous beach clubs lined up each with their own 'vibe'. The lounge chairs and wind shields make it possible to enjoy any day with the slightest bit of sun.

Rather prefer a less skinny & fashionable crowd? Then Bergen aan Zee is my favourite. Bergen is a cute village and the beach goers are (family)friendly and easy going.

City Beaches
There are several city beaches with all the same concept: an artificial beach set alongside a pond, a bar-restaurant resembling one in the Caribbean and guests wearing bikini's and swim shorts. The latter depending on the weather, of course.

All City Beaches are open again. Boven Nemo is not a city beach but a roof top terrace of the NeMo museum. It boasts stunning views and is open as of July. Click on the map below to find out which city beach, indicated with a sun, is nearest to you.
