More Japanese Cuisine

After blogging about 'haute Japanese cuisine' and 'traditional Japanese eating houses' in Amsterdam, here's the rest of the list on Amsterdam for Japanese food-lovers.

Teppanyaki and Sushi Bar Sapporo
Sapporo serves my personal favourite sushi: the Sapporo Maki. the Teppanyaki is quite popular amongst the Amsterdammers, who often come here with friends and family. So do reserve, but at the sushi bar you are always welcome.
Sapporo, Scheldestraat 99, T. 020 4710039

If you feel like something sweet after a dinner at Sapporo, hop over to the other side of the street where you'll find Gelateria Pisa or Venezia.

  • Zen Japans Delicatessenhuis, A Japanese delicacy house. I have heard good things about it, but have to confess that I havenʼt tried it yet. F. Halsstraat 38, T. 627 06 07
  • Meidi-Ya - Best take away sushi place and Japanese 'supermarket'. With 10 stores in Japan, I see it as an honour to have one Meidi-Ya store in Amsterdam! Store is not open in evenings, so make sure you get your sushi in-take before 18h! Meidi-Ya, Beethovenstraat 20, T. 673 74 10
  • Japanese Pancake World Okonomiyaki! A Japanese secret in the Jordaan. They do take time to prepare their pancakes, so be patient. Do reserve, because the place is being discovered by more and more food-lovers. 2e Egelantiersdwarsstraat 24a, T. 320 44 47
